[ He seems to be 100% in belief of that it isn’t anyway. Then he sighs and pulls the apoon back to himself, taking the bite instead and letting Akashi get his own piece. ]

But now I know it’s what you want I’ll leave it be.

[ Oh, thank god. He's going to pick up his own spoon, then. He merely takes a small piece of the carrot cake before putting it in his mouth. ]

It's not bad.

[ He opens his mouth, shuts it, apparently having held his breath for a second as he waited for the response. ]

I'll take it as a compliment coming from you.

It was meant as one.

[ But now, he tries another cake! He's just going to keep taking small bites from one cake to another until he's done his rounds. ]

[ He blinks at that, surprisingly honest with his feelings for someone who came across as a person who followed what other people told him to do and seemed pretty reserved. ]

What dya think about that one?

[ He'll ask for every single one of them, practically on the edge of his seat as he waits for his responses. ]

It's a bit too sweet for my tastes.

[ Not that Akashi's not into sweets or anything, but his palate has been trained at a young age to enjoy the same things his father does. ]

Although I know someone who would enjoy this very much.

[ There isn't one that Akashi actively dislikes. His comments on the rest are along the lines of "it's too sweet" or "oh, it's very flavourful". He doesn't go into detail that much, either, unless he's asked. And every so often, he'd drink his tea so cleanse his palate before taking another bite. ]

[ Well it’s a start. In comparison, Ouma probably makes lewd noises when he bites a cake that’s particularly sweet, just to see if it embarrasses him (or anyone in their vicinity tbh). One older lady looks scadalised, anyway. ]

Hey, Akashi-chan, are you still okay in helping me pick out a gift for someone?

[ So long as Kokichi doesn't lick his fork while looking directly into Akashi's eyes, then he won't complain. ]

Oh, yes. I did say I would accompany you. [ He feels that he's eaten a good amount of the cakes already (approximately four bites each) that he puts his fork down on one of the plates. Then he places both hands on the surface of the table, one atop the other. ] I don't mind, if you still plan on doing that.

[ He'd only do that to Saihara tbh. ]

Mmmm, do you know anything about hair pins, Akashi-chan? I need to get one of those.

[ He's going to still keep taking bites of cake though. ]

[ What is there to know about them, one would ask, but not Akashi. He's trained for these kinds of inquiries. ]

I suppose I do. For whom are you getting it for? Do you know what their hair is like?

[ That's... okay that's a bit of a surprise, though he only seems pleased instead. ] Straight brown hair down to about here.

[ He points to where Hinasaki Miu's hair length is to. ] Aaaand, it's for a friend.

If your friend has short hair, then maybe you should just get the ones that don't have much teeth in them.

[ It's just a suggestion based on what he knows, but he's never really... tried... nor is he an expert. ]

Hmmm, really? Is that how it works? I want to find something that's a little sentimental though, as it'll be replacing one that meant a lot to her.

[ He isn't helping his case of liking Iruma instead though. ]

Then it has to mean something for both you and her, yes?

[ Unfortunately, that's not something he can help with. ]

It might be better to have someone make you one than buy one from a shop.

Hmmm.... so I should draw up a design for her?

[ No, but the advice alone is p useful. ]

Then just pretend I found it lying around because I didn't want to buy her anything?

[ Okay, the last bit is something he can't seem to understand. ]

Then why are you getting her a hairpin?

[ He's still smiling as he says it though, laughing it off. ]

She'll probably be really annoying if I don't get her anything--that's what sisters are like, right?

I wouldn't know. I don't have a sister. But I thought you said it was for a friend?

Neither do I, it's... a figure of speech. [ Or rather, he hasn't had a real family in a long time anyway--all his "family" are people he's chosen. ]

Either way, it won't change the fact that she'll be annoying about it.

Hmm... I suppose you'll just have to out-annoy her.

[ Akashi doesn't realise that he's ever been annoying his entire life. His friends would say he's annoying, though, but that's another story. ]

[ He laughs. ]

Oh, that'll be easy! I get told I'm annoying pretty often. You don't find me annoying though do you?

[ His face drops, as if he's worried about this. ]

I'm used to all kinds of people. You needn't worry.

[ That was not a very direct answer, was it? ]

[ Ah, the worried face shifts and he looks like he’s about to cry. ]

You do, don’t you Akashi-chan?! Waaaah! Why does this keep happening to me?!

[ Nevermind, here comes the fake tears. ]

[ Fake or not, Akashi decides to shut him up by placing the side of his index finger against Kokichi's mouth. ]

You're disturbing the other patrons.

[ He, on the other hand, does not look particularly bothered. ]

[ He does shut up instantly, actually, the fake tears drying quicker than expected. His eyes stare right at Akashi's face. ]

Y'know... if you had frosting on your finger I could've licked it off for you like this.

[ Will he be bothered now tho. ]
